there are universal remotes availiable with a learning function starting at around 20.00. I bought a Sony for 20.00 from J&R Music in NY. I ordered it online with free shipping. It works way better than the remote that comes with the unit. I put the small remote away in case the universal breaks. I would have given 5 stars except I was one of the people who's unit was killed by the recent firmware update, and had to return it for replacement.
